I loved the "world's tiniest" bathroom in the female dorm, it was like a cozy puzzle! The uphill trek to the hostel was an exhilarating workout, perfect for maintaining my posh figure!
Just wish they had more noise outside my window, maybe a live band playing until dawn?

The breakfast selection could be improved.

Great common room with a friendly atmosphere. The location is ideal, close to bars and clubs, and near other popular streets. The rooms are comfortable and have heaters for warmth. The showers are hot and enjoyable. The hostel also has a well-equipped kitchen for guests to use.
The staff, mostly volunteers, may not be able to provide much information about the local area and tours. The WiFi could be stronger.

I had a fantastic time at Escarabajo! The communal area was a great place to hang out and meet new people. The kitchen and garden were wonderful, and the private bathroom in my room was a bonus. The breakfast served until late was delicious, and I appreciated being able to leave my backpack after check-out. The heater in the room kept me warm, and the location in Cerro was perfect. I especially enjoyed the BBQ organized by the owner/volunteer.
That the hot water in my room was not always very hot, but it was still manageable. Additionally, the kitchen and communal area could use more light, making it easier to turn on the fire.
